TNK-BP CEO Accused of Discrimination
TNK-BP managers filed a suit against CEO Robert Dudley yesterday to close ranks with Russia’s holders in the conflict of the company’s owners. Manifesting complete solidarity with AAR, the managers seek termination of Dudley’s labor contract. Dudley attributes the suit to AAR’s desire to prevent his visa’s extension. The current visa expires tomorrow.
Sixteen top managers of TNK-BP filed a suit to the peace justice of the Presnensky Court District No. 380, Moscow. The claimants are the Russians and an American, who had worked at TNK. The accused defendants are TNK-BP CEO Robert Dudley and all members of the Board of Directors. The demand is to deem the labor contract with Dudley expired and elect a new CEO.

The claimants blame on Mr Dudley creation of discriminatory conditions for Russia’s employees. Unlike the Russians, the company pays for the rent of elite housing by nonresidents, education of their children, health insurance for all family, VIP-service at the airport.

Despite all logic, the suit omits the demands to hike salaries of the Russians to the level of nonresidents and strip the latter of the preferential status. Its sole requirement, i.e. to terminate Dudley’s contract and elect a new CEO, meets the desire of Russia’s holders of TNK-BP that endeavor to deprive Dudley of the office.

Dudley’s visa expires tomorrow. The Federal Migration Service (FMS) has granted an employment permit to him, but demanded a labor contract to issue a visa. The manager will meet with the FMS representatives today.
