United Russia Sets to Scrutinizing the Country
Nowadays, the members of United Russia’s faction of the State Duma are to monitor social and economic situation in all regions of the country. They will report the results of accomplished work through a special form, where one of the items provides for a personal meeting with heads of internal bodies and prosecutor office. The purpose to attain is to protect the nation from negative fallout of global financial crisis.
All members of Russia’s State Duma visit the regions, where they ran for the lower house of parliament. They have a week for this purpose and do it monthly irrespective of faction. The current regional week started on Monday and its beginning wasn’t usual for United Russia. First time in the history of State Duma, its speaker Boris Gryzlov had delivered past week a special address to his faction dedicated to the regional week.
According to the web of United Russia faction, Gryzlov addressed his faction in the context of ongoing global financial collapse that “tests the strength of all countries,” including Russia. In today’s environment, the party’s highlight is “to ensure progressive advance of economy and to protect the nation against negative fallout of financial clots.” Gryzlov urged the faction to “continuously monitor social and economic situation.”
Yesterday, the aides of State Duma members from United Russia received a special form to be urgently filled in once the lawmakers are back from their regional trips. The document has eight items overall. The seventh point is of particular interest – it sets forth a personal meeting of the United Russia member with chiefs of regional internal bodies and prosecutor office.
