Boeing’s Crash in Perm Initiated Claim against FAA
The state court in Chicago has set to the case of Alexei Afonasenkov, the farther of one of the victims of Boeing 737-500 that crashed in Russia’s Perm in summer, vs. the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. The petition was filed by American law firms, Nolan Law Group and Ribbeck Law Chartered. On behalf of Afonasenkov, the lawyers seek documentation and information about the individuals and companies responsible for the crash.
The petition against the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was initiated by Nolan Law Group and Ribbeck Law Chartered. The lawyers stand ready to prove that FAA had negligently trained pilots killed in the air crash of Boeing 737-500 near Perm-town of Russia. The lawyers refer to Russia’s-U.S. intergovernmental agreement that took effect in 1998 and that commits FAA to supervise the training.
Crashed jet’s captain Rodion Medvedev, who had 452 hours as pilot-in-command of this model jet, had been trained in 2006 in the U.S.-based institution in Denver, which is also under the FAA’s control. Russia’s pilots hadn’t been adequately trained there, concluded Thomas Ellis from Nolan Law Group.

The investigation is yet in progress, but they have already completed mathematic modeling of the crash and the results will be provided to all countries concerned, including the United States.
According to earlier reports, Afonasenkov’s lawyers intended to lodge a suit against FAA for the total worth of $10 million. “Money isn’t the main purpose of Mr Afonasenkov,” said Sergei Malenko, who stands for the U.S. lawyers in Russia. “He wants to change the system of pilots’ retraining.” Dozens of relatives of victims are ready to support the suit, Malenko specified.
