Naftogaz to Pay Off Debt to Russia by Dec 1
Russia's gas monopoly Gazprom and Ukrainian Naftogaz have agreed about settlement of a portion of gas debt by December 1, 2008.
Gazprom has agreed with Naftogaz that the latter will pay by December 1 for September supplies of gas and for a portion of gas supplied in October, Gazprom said in a statement released by results of negotiations of Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller with Naftogaz CEO Oleg Dubina.

The parties will proceed with negotiations related to implementing the provisions of October 2 intergovernmental memorandum on gas cooperation, PRIME-TASS reported. Under the memorandum, the transfer to direct long-term contracts of Gazprom and Naftogaz is conditioned to discharge of all debt by Ukraine.
