Dollar Sank to 10yr Minimum
The U.S. dollar has depreciated to the minimum of October 1998 after Lehman filed its bankruptcy application to the court.
The slump was contained once the Bank of America announced acquisition of Merrill Lynch & Co.
The U.S. dollar sank 3.4 percent to ¥104.54 Monday and each euro costs $1.4260 today; the U.S. analysts forecast a dollar to depreciate to $1.46 per euro during a week.
Central Bank of Russia lowered the U.S. dollar to 25.3938 ruble as of September 16; the euro rate gained 34 kopecks to 36.4299 ruble.
The CBR appreciated dollar to September 2007 maximum past week, having set the rate at 25.5814 ruble per a dollar. That appreciation (as well as today’s depreciation of the U.S. currency) could be attributed to the global market performance. Euro has recently appreciated to the U.S. dollar worldwide; each euro cost $1.443 early September 15.
