Dudley Sanctioned to Work in Russia till July 2009
TNK-BP CEO Robert Dudley has been sanctioned to work in Russia from July 2008 till July 2009, said the RF Federal Migration Service briefer Konstantin Poltoranin. Dudley may set to executing his duties, the news service of TNK-BP specified.
“We cannot oppose labor activities of Robert Dudley… The employment permit… has been received,” Echo Moskvy quoted the briefer as saying.

Asked by RIA Novosti whether Dudley may go on with the work on receipt of the temporarily visa, a spokesman of TNK-BP said that Dudley had posed the same question when meeting with representatives of Federal Migration Service to receive the transit visa past Friday and had been assured that he may proceed with the work.

The decision on Dudley’s employment in the country without the labor visa is in the competence of his employer, Poltoranin pointed out.

“We cannot prevent Dudley from working in Russia, as he has the respective permit till July of 2009. He has a transit visa and may proceed with the work till getting the employment one, which will be provided once he submits all required documents,” the official said.

Dudley’s resignation is the key demand of Russia’s co-owners of TNK-BP, who claim that the contract with this top manager lost validity January 1, 2008.
