Rosneft Outpaced 120 Companies in Fortune Rating
Of all Russia’s companies, Gazprom enjoys the highest score in the Fortune’s Global 500. It ranks No. 47 with the revenues of $98.6 billion, and Rosneft has the 203rd rating ($36.1 billion), having climbed 120 lines in one go. This oil company of Russia was just No. 323 a year ago.
The surge in Rosneft revenues is attributed to the surge in its crude oil production and refining fueled by the acquisition of Yukos assets. The same assets enabled Rosneft to win the national leadership in the oil output and reserves in 2007.

Similar to 2007, the U.S. Wal-Mart ($378.7 billion) ranks the first in Global 500. Exxon Mobil follows with the revenues of $372.8 billion, while Royal Dutch Shell is the last of the leading trio.

Global 500 sets forth a few more corporations of Russia in addition to Gazprom and Rosneft. LUKOIL has the 90th score and Surgutneftegaz benefits from the 357th rating. The country’s saving bank, Sberbank, has been added to Global 500 first time this year. It ranks No. 406 today.
