Putin Visits Aircraft Material Manufacturer
The RF Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has visited All-Russia’s Research Institute of Aircraft Materials (VIAM) that marks the 76th anniversary of its foundation June 28.
VIAM was set up in June of 1932. It has been involved in fundamental research of materials’ developing and testing, first of all of aviation designation, as well as in development of production technology since 1994.
VIAM is implementing five highlights of Russia’s science and technology, including security and counterterrorism, nano-technologies, promising armaments, military and special machinery and equipment and other.
VIAM experts and researchers developed 152 new materials, 246 new technological procedures, 180 methods of research, testing and control in 2003 through 2007.
