Abramovich to Go to Chukotka to Cast Ballot
According to the poll held by Vedomosti edition, the December 2 parliamentary elections in Russia will enjoy the attendance of big business. Of interest is that, although willing to cast ballots, the famed businessmen haven’t bothered to take permits authorizing them to vote anywhere. So, they will have to show up at the polling stations at places of official residence.
RAO UES of Russia CEO, member of Political Council member at the Union of Right Forces (SPS) Anatoly Chubais lives in a cottage in the Moscow region. But he will have to go to Lenin Avenue for the purpose of voting.

Roman Abramovich, who is the governor of Russia’s Chukotka in addition to being the owner of London Chelsea, is to go to Anadyr to cast ballot. GAZ CEO Sergei Zanozin will take a special charter flight from Nizhni Novgorod to Moscow.

AFK Sistema principal owner Vladimir Evtushenkov, Miel-Nedvizhimost Group CEO Grigory Kulikov, Industrial Investors Group owner Sergei Generalov, Uralsib owner Nikolay Tsvetkov, Alfastrakhovanie (Alfa Insurance) General Director Vladimir Skvortsov won’t miss the Sunday event.

The root cause of this enormous desire of business to turn out at elections could be the November 21 speech of President Vladimir Putin. Putin, who heads the slate of United Russia at State Duma elections, was explicit in Luzhniki that day. The president told supporters about some political forces in the country that were plotting “the revanche of oligarchs.” The observers speculate that, by expressing their readiness to go to elections, the country’s fat cats are showing that they are not in the league with revanchists.
