Terrorist Plot Foiled in Moscow Last Tuesday
A deadly attack has been prevented after law enforcement officials found defused a carbomb in southwestern Moscow, the Russian FSB told the RBC news agency on Thursday. The car was packed with 7 kilos of plastic explosive. Earlier reports said the bomb contained 20 kilograms of explosives.
A Moscow court on Thursday issued arrest warrants for two people suspected of plotting a blast in Moscow ahead of Victory Day, a court spokesperson said.

The bomb, which contained 7 kilograms of plastic explosive and an unknown amount of ball bearings, was hidden inside a VAZ-2107 parked in south-western Moscow. Ball bearings are used to drastically increase the deadly force of a blast. It took more than one day to defuse the powerful bomb.

The FSB says the attack was masterminded by a terrorist group ahead of Victory Day. The group supposedly consisted of North Caucasus nationals suspected of terrorist attacks in the region. The FSB have already detained several people in this case.

This is a bomb incident this year. Late February, police arrested a man in Moscow before Defender of the Fatherland Day, finding a powerful improvised explosive device with him.
